SB Characteristics

Organization Characteristics are different qualities or groups that may be designated to each school, LEA, or Central Office department.

Create Organization Characteristics

1. In Allocate, select Configuration.

2. Select Characteristics.

3. From Characteristics, select + New Property.

4. Enter a unique name for the Characteristic.

5. Determine the sort order.

6. Select visible or hidden.

7. Select Dynamic Characteristic if you would like the Characteristic to be based on a property.

8. If Dynamic Characteristic is selected, select a Characteristic from the menu.

9. Select a Calculation Type.

   1. Percent-based calculations (Proportional Dynamic Property)

      1. Create rules based on percentage amounts.

   2. Fixed calculations (Fixed Dynamic Property)

      1. Create rules based on fixed dollar amounts.

10. Once complete, select Save.

Add Allowed Value

Once you set a Characteristic in Allocate, you must associate the characteristic with an Allowed Value. To add an Allowed Value, follow the steps below:

1. In Allocate, select Configuration.

2. Select Characteristics.

3. Navigate to the Allowed Value

Edit Organization Characteristics

1. In Allocate, select Configuration.

2. Select Characteristics.

3. From the Property column, select Edit.

4. Edit the property details.

5. Select Save.

Delete Organization Characteristics

1. In Allocate, select Configuration.

2. Select Characteristics.

3. From the Property column, select Delete.

4. Select OK.

Add Allowed Value

Once the property is created, Allowed Values must be configured for each Property. To create a new allowed value, follow the steps below:

1. Choose the Property to add an allowed value.

2. From the Allowed Values column, select +New Allowed Value.

3. Enter the allowed value.

   1. When Dynamic Characteristics is not selected, enter an alphanumeric identifier.

   2. For Proportional Dynamic Property (also known as percent-based calculations), enter the allowed value and a maximum and minimum percentage

   3. For Fixed Dynamic Property (also known as fixed calculations), enter the allowed value and a minimum and maximum number.

4. Select Save.

Edit Allowed Values

1. Select Configuration.

2. Navigate to Characteristics and choose the Allowed Values.

3. Select the pencil icon to edit.

4. Select Save when complete.

Delete Allowed Values

1. Select Configuration.

2. Navigate to Characteristics and choose the Allowed Values.

3. Select the trash icon.

4. Select OK.
