Course admins can hide grades from students using several methods.

Use Visibility Settings in Grade Setup to hide overall grades, grading period grades, or total points in the student grade report.

Unpublish a course material to hide the grade from students. Your gradebook will display the grade, but students will not be able to access the material or the grade.

Disable View Submissions for tests with subjective questions to hide grades from students until all responses are graded. Alternatively, add a zero-point subjective question so grades appear as N/A or –/total points possible until grading is complete.
