Print physical copies of tests linked to specific students in the course.
Create the test or quiz

Navigate to the course and select Add Materials.

Choose Add Test/Quiz from the list.

Click Add Questions and select a question type.
Select settings for a printed test or quiz
Allow space for short answer or essay questions
You must choose whether the question is an essay or a short answer to allow space when printing.

Navigate to the short answer/essay question.

Click the gear icon and select Edit.

Choose Short Answer or Essay Question.

Click Save Question.
Allocate spacing for each type of question

From the test/quiz, select Settings.

From Printing Options, enter the number of lines to add for each question type. Lines are 1.2 cm or roughly half an inch apart.

Click Save Changes.
Generate multiple variations of a test or quiz
Randomize the questions to generate multiple variations of the same test with a corresponding answer key.

From the test or quiz, select Settings.

From Randomize Order, choose Yes, even if you added questions from a randomized question bank.

Click Save Changes.
Print the test or quiz

After you build the test or quiz, select the action links (gear) and choose Print Test.

Select Print Options.

Choose the options and click Print. Refer to the Print options details table for more information.

Review the preview for accuracy, and then print the test or quiz from your web browser.

Select Fit Questions to Page for as many questions as possible on each page. Questions will not be split across pages; if the entire question does not fit, it will move to the next page. Select One question per page to print each question on a separate page of the test or quiz. |
Printing tips

Do not print double-sided copies. The answer key will be printed on the back of the test.

If printing multiple test versions from Schoology, you don't need to update the number of copies in the print tool from your browser.
Grade a printed test or quiz

Navigate to the test or quiz in your course.

Select Results.

Click View by Student.
You cannot enter scores from View by Question when you have administered a printed assessment. -
Click View Attempts for the student.

Enter the printed test ID found on a corner of the printed test/quiz.

Click Add to display the test or quiz version that the student took.

Click the question's score to grade each question.

Click Save.
